It is located in the 92663 zip code.  Newport Shores can be entered off Coast Highway from 61st Street, Walnut Street, Prospect and Orange Street. Newport Shores is surrounded by a Canal and there are Canal front homes which are located on Canal Street, Canal Circle and 62nd Street. The Canal is fed by the tide. There is wildlife in the Canal including waterfowl, ducks, geese, occasional swans, herons and it is not uncommon to see the residents fishing off their decks.

Homes: There are approximately 440 homes in this community. There are duplexes, single story and two story single family homes. Many of the homes in Newport Shores have been remodeled.

Amenities: Newport Shores does have an HOA. Newport Shores features a community pool, tennis court, basketball court, sand volleyball court and a new park which is at the community clubhouse. There is also a city of Newport Beach park located on 61st Street with Canal views.

Schools: Children who reside in Newport Shores attend Newport Elementary School located at 1327 West Balboa Blvd., Newport Beach, CA 92661. This is one of the only schools located on the beach. The middle school is Horace Ensign and teens attend Newport Harbor High School.
