Newport Shores is a beautiful beach community located on the west side of Newport Beach, With approximately 44o homes, this area is beach close. Newport Shores has a homeowners association (HOA) and features amenities including a community clubhouse, community pool, tennis court, basketball court, sand volleyball court, and a playground for children. Additionally, there is a second playground which is a city of Newport Beach park on 61st street which has playground equipment.
The shores is surrounded by a canal that is fed by the tide. There are lots of different wildlife including waterfowl including herons and ducks, geese, and more. Other wildlife includes raccoons.
Newport Shores Schools
The elementary school for Newport Shores in Newport Elementary in Newport Beach. This is one of the only schools that is located on the beach. The address for Newport Elementary School is 1327 West Balboa Boulevard, Newport Beach, CA 92661. Many children will ride their bikes to school down Seashores to the boardwalk which begins on 36th Street.
The middle school is Horace Ensign Middle School located at 2000 Cliff Drive, Newport Beach, CA 92663. The high school is Newport Harbor High School and its location is 600 Irvine Avenue, Newport Beach CA 92663.

The streets of this area include Canal Street, Canal Circle, Cedar, Colton Street, Lugonia Street, Orange Street Prospect, Walnut, 61st, and 62nd Street. These streets are bordered by Newport Shores Drive. The entrances off Coast Highway at Prospect and Orange Street do have signals. Newport Shores is a beach community, located across the street from one of the finest beaches in Newport Beach.
Many of the homes in this area have been updated or remodeled. There has also been new construction in this community.
Activity
Newport Shores is a beach close community. Many residents enjoy the canal that surrounds the homes by kayaking, stand-up paddleboard, swimming, and more! Newport Shores is a beach close community located just across Coast Highway to fabulous Newport Beach. It is an easy walk to the river jetty which is a very popular surfing spot. Another popular surf spot is 56th Street. Many residents enjoy riding their bikes or enjoying the newly popular electric bikes to take a quick ride to Huntington Beach and to Pacific City. Or head towards the Newport Beach pier which features dining and shopping. There is also a Farmer’s Market down by the pier on Sundays.
There is a beautiful pool that is heated all year long. Many enjoy the swimming laps. During the summer months, there are swim lessons available for children. There is also a conditioning program for children age 9 and older who plan on trying out for the Newport Beach Junior Lifeguard program.
If you are interested in playing tennis, there is a tennis court in the Newport Shores common area. There are multiple other Newport Beach tennis courts that are located at 5700 Seashore, Newport Beach. There is also a handball court and a playground for children to enjoy.
Start the day with a fabulous walk on the beach and enjoy the waves, watch the surfers, bodyboarders, and body surfers. Most surfers will continue to surf even though the temperatures are cooler, they will utilize wetsuits.
Restaurants
There are a few restaurants located within walking distance of Newport Shores. There is Cucina Alessa which offers Italian food. Another very popular restaurant is Eat Chow and is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Other restaurants include Tidepools which has free delivery for residents. Spaghetti Bender is located on Coast Highway and is a popular restaurant for all to enjoy!
