Balboa Island is a highly sought after area in Newport Beach. Balboa Island is a man made set of three islands, and they are the Main Island, the Little Island and Collins Island. The Main Island has approximately 1100 homes on it, the Little Island has 232 homes on it, and Collins Island which has eight homes and it is a gated island. These homes on Collins Island have magnificent views of Newport Harbor.
Balboa Island (the Main island and the Little Island) have a boardwalk that goes all the way around, and it is a wonderful way to “walk” the island and take in the beautiful scenery. The homes are gorgeous, and it is always incredible to see Newport Harbor and it’s ever changing scenery as the boats glide by. The water in the bay around Balboa Island is sparkling and clear. If you are on the South Bayfront, then there are beautiful views of the Balboa Pavilion in Newport Beach.
There is the Balboa Island ferry which runs between the Balboa Peninsula and the Island. The ferry can take three automobiles, bicycles and passengers. It is a beautiful journey, although it is brief, it is a wonderful way to view the incredible bay front homes on Balboa Island and the Balboa Peninsula. Living on Balboa Island is a lifestyle, walk to Marine Avenue for coffee or shopping, or take the Ferry across to the Peninsula and enjoy one of the restaurants in that location. There are festivities throughout the year in this community in Newport Beach, including the annual Christmas Boat parade, and Balboa Island is a popular place to view the parade, and many homes participate in decorating their homes for the annual Christmas holiday. Fourth of July is also very popular on Balboa Island.
