Hi, my name is Morgan Thomson, I am Sharon’s daughter and here is my view of living in Newport Beach!
Music is one of my favorite hobbies. So whenever I get the chance, I go to concerts. This summer I have been to four concerts. Concerts or live music is such a fun experience because you get to see how people perform when having one chance to get it perfect, as opposed to a recording studio which eventually translates to the albums we listen to.
The first concert I went to this summer was Young the Giant. It was amazing! I sat decently close to the stage and it was so much fun being with my friends and getting to listen to music that I enjoy. They played at the Pacific Ampitheater which is inside of the OC Fair. The audience was completely filled. Even the lawn seats! It was such an amazing concert.
The second concert I went to was All American Rejects. Our seats were in the back but we still had fun. We made friends with the people next to us which is always a good way to make friend with the same interests.. They were very good live as well.
The third and most recent concert I went to was Fun. Fun. Is my favorite band by far. They played at the Wiltern in LA. In the Wiltern, there are no seats so we fought our way to the front and it was so cool because the tickets were only $25. This was the absolute funnest concert I have ever been to. Chiddy Bang opened for them and they were soo good! I knew every song they played. And they do this part where they take words from the audience and Chiddy Bang improvises a rap. It was amazing to see someone think on their feet like that.. When Fun. came on and the lights went up and Nate Ruess (lead singer of Fun.) was in a suit… I cried. He is the HOTTEST man on this planet! I was in tears of joy because they started with one of my favorite songs, Carry On. I honestly think this band is better live! Even when the band was just talking to the audience it was amazing.. they are by far the most amazing in concert!
The last concert I went to was a couple of weeks ago – Slightly Stoopid at the Verizon Ampitheater. The band 311 opened for them, and it was an amazing concert!
