There are several things that a Realtor does not want to hear, and one of them is “I didn’t want to bother my real estate agent“. Often times, the phone rings and it is a prospect who is calling a property which is listed for sale, and they have found it on my website. The assumption is – I am the listing agent. While I do have my own listings, I do have IDX – which is Internet Data Exchange, most commonly referred to as IDX, is how MLS listings end up on a website.
Real estate agents live on commission and what that means is we respond to emails, phone calls and texts from every phone number and these are home buyers looking for more information about a home listed for sale. Every contact that we receive is looked at closely, as that person might be looking to hire us as their Realtor® and allow us to use our skills to help them find their new home.
One of the questions I ask, is are you working with an agent? And the response is yes, but I didn’t want to bother them about the property listed for sale. You as a buyer have hired that person, and please call that person who you are working with to find out the information you are looking for, and also call them to set up a showing. Keep in mind, if your agent thinks you are a bother, then perhaps you have hired the wrong agent.
You have hired an agent, and now let them do their job to find out the information you are looking for on the properties you are interested in.
