Carmel is another tract in One Ford Road with 61 homes; Summerhouse has 60 homes; Stonybrook has 100 homes; Providence has 50 homes; and Pacific Heights has 8 custom home sites. The Castaways in Newport Beach is a guard gated community. These Newport Beach homes were originally built in 1997 and 1998 by Taylor Woodrow.

The Castaways in Newport Beach are bordered by Dover Drive and some overlook the back bay and have ocean views.

The Castaways homes in Newport Beach have Cape Cod Style design and architecture. Many of these Newport Beach homes for sale do have three car garages. The school district for the residents of the Castaways is Newport Mesa, and the schools are: Mariners Elementary School (which is a highly sought after school), Ensign Middle School and Newport Harbor High School. Both Ensign and Newport Harbor are very close proximity to the Castaways.

And there is Lido Yacht club for the use of the residents of Lido Island, and the children enjoy a summer sailing program as well.

Newport Shores in Newport Beach – Market Update

Newport Shores in Newport Beach is located on the west side of Newport Beach. A charming community of approximately 440 homes (mostly single family, however there are condos and duplexes as well). Newport Shores offers it’s residents a community clubhouse for events and activities, a heated pool, tennis court and basketball court to keep you active. Also there are periodic tennis tournaments which is a fun way to get to know your neighbors, and have a little competition at the same time. There is also a sand volleyball court. And for the kids, there are two parks with swings, things to climb on and slides.

Newport Shores is across the street from the beach in Newport Beach, walking distance to the river jetty, and the infamous Frog House (a local merchant who sells surf boards and the like).

Newport Shores currently has six active listings, ranging in price from $589,900 (short sale) to $1,299,00 (located on the Canal). One property is in back up status, and there have been 3 sales since September 1, 2010 ranging in price from $690,000 to $980,000.

Look Who Came to Visit in Newport Shores Today

Two swans came to visit us here in Newport Shores today. There was one that looked familiar, but the darker one we have not seen before. They are so beautiful and were pretty friendly.

It is such a treat to see them, and I haven’t seen any swans since last summer.

So I thought I would share these photos with you!

Newport Beach’s Best Kept Secret – Cherry Lake

Cherry Lake is located in Newport Beach, and there are many people who did not even know it exists. This lake is spring fed, and is bordered by Heather Lane, Lake Park Lane and 23rd Street.

There are nineteen Newport Beach homes located on Cherry Lake. These homes all have views of the Lake and enjoy the secluded and serene lifestyle of this area. The lake is spring fed and is professionally maintained. These homes in Newport Beach have views of Cherry Lake from their homes, balconies, and docks.

These homes located on Cherry Lake feature docks which are used for swimming, fishing, paddle boats, and kayaks. In this area of Newport Beach, it almost feels like you are in the mountains at a lake as opposed to the beach. However, this is still extremely close proximity to the ocean, boardwalk and beach lifestyle.

Additionally, there is a walking trail around the lake, and it is not accessible to the public. It is for the resident’s exclusive use. There are also beautiful lily pads that are growing in the lake as well.

Because there are so few homes located on Cherry Lake in Newport Beach, they rarely become available for sale. However, at this time, there is one active listing with a view of the lake:

Homes on Broker Preview in Newport Beach

Today was a beautiful day in Newport Beach, and there were some great houses on preview. The Lido Peninsula Resort which is located on the Lido Peninsula has manufactured homes. Most of these homes have a Cape Cod style to them.. It is a charming community with smaller homes. Some of the homes are located right on the water, and there are slips available as well. The homes in this area are on lease property.

One property located at 27 Drake Street in Newport Beach is listed for sale at $315,000. This property was recently remodeled and it was designed R.A. Jeheber in Newport Beach. This home is charming with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and there is also handicap access.

The Lido Peninsula Resorts offers another area for people to consider when movingto the area. The homes are walking distance to the beach and bay, there is a community pool, and it is walking distance to upscale dining. Many of the residents in this community travel around via golf carts.
