Lido Isle in Newport Beach Market Update
Lido Isle in Newport Beach was originally incorporated 1906. In 1928, William Crittenden and an architect from Switzerland who was named Franz Herding developed a plan for Lido Isle to be a Mediterranean themed residential area in Newport Beach. The area was built with streets named after Lido of Venice, which is a beautiful resort on the coast of Italy. Some of the names of the streets included the names of Mediterranean cities, including Firenzie, Genoa, Mentone, Nice, Quito and Ithaca to name the streets on Lido Isle.
Lido Isle is an island and you do cross over a bridge to get to it. Lido is located in West Newport and is literally walking distance to shopping, dining and the beach. And it is an easy bike ride to the Balboa Pier or the Newport Pier.
