The Castaways in Newport Beach
The Castaways in Newport Beach

The Castaways in Newport Beach is a guard gated community in Newport Beach. The homes reside up on the bluff, and the homes on the front row have spectacular Newport Harbor, and ocean views.

The Castaways is bordered off Dover Drive and is located near the Dover Shores area. The homes in the Castaways were built by Taylor Woodrow and built in 1997 and 1998. The Castaways in Newport Beach has 119 homes, and the architecture homes are a Cape Cod style. It really is a charming community. The residents of the Castaways in Newport Beach attend Mariner’s Elementary School, Ensign Middle School and Newport Harbor High School.

The homes in the Castaways as well as the landscaping are impeccably maintained. The Castaways in Newport Beach also has trails for walking and enjoying the California climate.
In the past year, there have been two sales in the Castaways. The prices for those homes sold in 2009 range in price from $1,710,000 to $1,900,000.
Currently, there are two properties in back up status.
15 Cape Danbury, Newport Beach - Priced at $1,695,000
31 Cape Andover, Newport Beach – Priced at $2,750,000
There are two active listings on the market:
35 Cape Andover, Newport Beach – Priced at $2,675,000
I toured this home last week on Broker Preview, and it has a beautiful view, koi pond, and the home is decorated with a beach style, elegant yet comfortable feel.

67 Cape Andover, Newport Beach – Priced at $2,750,000
Both of these homes are located on the front row and do offer Newport Harbor, back back and ocean views.

Surf’s Up at Southern California Beaches
Surf’s Up at Southern California Beaches

This week has been glorious with warm weather and sunshine in the Newport Beach area. Last Sunday, on Valentine’s day, we rode our bikes to the Huntington Beach Pier to enjoy the California Sunshine and get some exercise at the same time. Huntington Beach is known as surf city.

There was a good swell on Sunday, and there were lots of surfers out. The surfers surf right by the Huntington Beach pier, and it is a great opportunity to watch them. The pier was lined with observers.

As usual, Main Street in Huntington Beach was crowded with lots of people enjoying the weather and Valentines Day.
If you are looking for warmer weather, you might consider the coastal communities in Orange County including Newport Beach and Huntington Beach for a visit, or to live. If I can answer any questions about Newport Beach or Huntington Beach, please contact me.
