Emerald Bay in Laguna Beach, California
Emerald Bay is a private gated community which is located in Laguna Beach. It is an exclusive community and beautiful ocean views and spectacular color water, this is a very stunning area. Located on both sides of Coast Highway, there are beach front homes as well as homes which sit up on the hill with sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean. There is a tunnel which goes under Coast Highway. There are private tennis courts, parks and a private swimming pool for the residents use. Emerald Bay was originally founded in 1929 and it was named for the color of the water. Many of the residents utilize golf carts to travel around Emerald Bay. Emerald Bay also has it’s own Fire Station as seen below here.

Today was an excellent day for Broker Preview for Newport Beach and Costa Mesa. Every Friday is the day for broker preview for Newport Beach and Costa Mesa for new homes listed on the MLS or price changes. I like to preview the inventory and pass on the the information about some of the homes that I have the opportunity to see.
The home located at 1919 Santa Ana in Costa Mesa is absolutely amazing. This home in in Costa Mesa which is a beautiful Queen Anne Victorian Architectural style home is truly a unique home. There is a wrap around porch and a rounded entry with leaded glass front doors. The home leaded glass windows through out, and there are many details to appreciate in this East Side Costa Mesa home for sale. This home in East Side Costa Mesa is value range priced at $1,795,000 to $1,900,000.
There is a in door spa with a waterfall. There is also a full bathroom located on the first level.
The detail on the chimney is impressive with all the intricacies and the pattern.
Another beautiful home I toured today was 301 North Star Lane which is located in the Dover Shores area of Newport Beach. This single family home located on the water features 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, and is priced at $3,795,000.
The view from this Dover Shores home for sale in Newport Beach is beautiful and does face the west. This property at 301 North Star Lane is in a very desirable area of Newport Beach.
Another spectacular home I toured today was located at 939 Via Lido Soud. There is a spa located outside to enjoy the weather and amazing location. This home has a spectacular entry with beautiful leaded glass in the entry. Another property I toured today, is a great buy, and I am going to suggest it for the Newport Beach Top Ten Deals is 340 Prospect in Newport Shores in Newport Beach. This single family home is located in Newport Shores area of Newport Beach and is a well maintained home. There is a very nice patio area to enjoy the California Climate and a koi pond. This single family home in Newport Shores is priced at $699,000.

I recently joined a committee with two other Realtors in Newport Beach where we review new listings, price changes to determine the 10 best deals in Newport Beach. And then we post them to share with you. Many consumers are truly looking for great deals, and here is your opportunity peruse these properties in Newport Beach and Corona del Mar.
The criteria is however, no short sales. The top ten best deals are standard sales or REO’s. We look at price per square foot and create a list of approximately ten properties to “make the list”. This week, there are 13 in the top ten.

- This property just had a price reduction from $1,995,000 and is now priced at $444.86 per square foot.

48th Annual Sandcastle Contest in Corona del Mar
The 48th annual Sandcastle Contest was held yesterday, October 4th, 2009 in Corona del Mar. The weather was perfect for this event, and we went down to view the sandcastles under construction as well as the finished products or sandcastles. There were several teams, and right at 2pm a horn was sounded for the conclusion of the construction on the sandcastles.
You can see the detail that is created. Many of the contestants utilized shells, seaweed for accessories, and the detail was created with trowels, brushes, and very creative people.
There were lots of people, and the judges rode by on the Newport Beach Lifeguard truck to vote for the most creative Sandcastle.

1000 Steps Beach in Laguna Beach
1000 Steps Beach in Laguna Beach is a beautiful beach that does have public access. Theere are approximately 230 steps to the sand, and it is steep, however beautiful. There are bushes and plants which have grown over the stairs creating a tunnel like effect. The beach itself is amazing with beautiful rock formations, and caves for exploring other coves.
Real Estate with forever views at 1000 Steps Beach
1000 Steps Beach which is located at 9th and Coast Highway in South Laguna Beach is a worthwhile visit. The entry to the beach itself is unusual. There was no lifeguard on duty when we were there yesterday, and the ocean conditions were rough with large waves, and a strong under tow. However, the temperature was warm. My advice is to swim near a manned lifeguard tower for your safety.
There is some very beautiful real estate over looking 1000 Steps Beach. These homes have spectacular views of the ocean. They also have stairs down to the beach, and some of the homes even have trams to go up and down the steep mountainside. Additionally, there are some homes located right on the sand.

There were a number of people working out on the stairs, and it is a great opportunity for an outdoor workout climbing back up the stairs.
Caves at 1000 Steps Beach
There were a number of skim boarders, and that seems to be a good beach for that. The waves are shore break, so surfing can be treacherous.
Parking is on the street, and make sure you cross Coast Highway at the signal.
None the less, 1000 Steps Beach in Laguna is absolutely breath taking, and just taking the time to go and enjoy this most beautiful area in Laguna is worth the visit.
Take your beverages and lunch, but make sure you save some water for the hike back up the stairs – even though there are not 1000 steps, it is a work out to climb back up those stairs.

The Newport Harbor High School Heritage Run is going to be held tomorrow October 3rd, 2009. This is the only fundraiser of the year for Newport Harbor High School, so come on out and show support for Newport Harbor High School. Download the entry form and register for the Heritage Run in Newport Beach. Registration begins at 6:30 am, and the 2k begins at 8am, and the 5k begins at 8:30 am.
This is a great opportunity to show support for the community and meet up with friends and family, all for a worthy cause, the Newport Harbor PTA.
There is a 2k and a fun 5k to enter, and the information is on the registration form. This is the time of year for 5k’s as last weekend was the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure which I particpated in.
